The Weatherfield soap pulled in 8.87m (38.2%) at 7.30pm on ITV1 and 157k (0.6%) on +1 as Maria broke up with Jason, while 9.32m (37.1%) watched at 8.30pm and 232k (0.9%) on +1 as chaos ensued when Jason discovered that he had been dumped for Marcus.
EastEnders, meanwhile, attracted 7.9m (32.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as Cora told Patrick the truth about Ava. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 579k (3.8%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale interested 7.4m (33.8%) at 7pm as Kerry's latest attempt to impress Amy backfired, adding 130k (0.5%) an hour later.
Hollyoaks appealed to 1.03m (4.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as the build-up to the village's weddings continued, while E4's first look had 567k (2.6%) at 7pm and 119k (0.5%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 759k (9.6%) at 1.45pm and 978k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 804k (4.1%) at 6pm and 549k (2.6%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.5m (19.1%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
