Coronation Street was close to the 8 million mark on Wednesday evening (November 7) with the latest developments in Maria and Marcus's storyline, overnight figures show.
The Weatherfield soap pulled in 7.98m (36.9%) at 7.30pm on ITV1 as Maria confessed her love for Marcus, adding 360k (1.6%) on +1.
Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 6.99m (32.9%) at 7pm as Declan offered a measly pay-off to Megan, with 213k (1.0%) watching an hour later.
Hollyoaks appealed to 944k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Mitzeee and Maxine began to get back on better terms, while E4's first look secured 459k (2.2%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 720k (9.7%) at 1.45pm and 942k (5.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 829k (4.4%) at 6pm and 502k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.51m (20.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
