EastEnders tops Tuesday evening's soap ratings

EastEnders was Tuesday evening's (October 23) most-watched soap as baby Lexi's future continued to be discussed, overnight figures show.

The Walford drama pulled in 7.68 million (34.5%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Phil asked for Sharon's help with the residency case by making a shocking suggestion, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 652k (4.4%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 7.62m (36.1%) at 7pm and 173k (0.7%) on +1 as Chas was quizzed by police over Carl's murder.

Holby City grabbed 4.76m (20.0%) at 8pm on BBC One with Eddi's final episode, while Hollyoaks had 1.02m (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 515k (2.4%) for E4's first look at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 641k (9.0%) at 1.45pm and 972k (6.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away interested 819k (4.5%) at 6pm and 487k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.43m (20.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
