Coronation Street was Wednesday evening's (September 26) most-watched soap as Kirsty's parents returned to the cobbles, overnight figures show.
The Weatherfield serial pulled in 7.53m (34.8%) at 7.30pm on ITV1 and 223k (1.0%) on +1 as Kirsty and Tyrone offered Alison a place to stay, only for Ed to later turn up on their doorstep.
Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 6.29m (31.9%) at 7pm as Sarah was found unconscious by a horrified Debbie, adding 204k (1.0%) on timeshift.
Hollyoaks grabbed 942k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 140k (0.6%) on +1 as Walker continued to threaten Brendan's loved ones, while E4's first look was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day with 661k (3.3%) at 7pm and 142k (0.7%) on timeshift.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours secured 677k (10.0%) at 1.45pm and 1.01m (7.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 704k (4.1%) at 6pm and 412k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.52m (22.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
