EastEnders was top dog in a lacklustre Friday evening for the soaps, overnight data shows.
Kat Slater's escalating mystery lover storyline attracted 6.23m (28.4%), adding 501k (3.1%) for BBC Three's 10.30pm repeat.
The EastEnders Omnibus picked up 446k (9%) at midnight until 1.30am.
Normal viewing routines may have been disturbed by the lack of Coronation Street, which made way for a UEFA Super Cup game on ITV.
Emmerdale logged 5.84m (30.7%) at 7pm as Ashley faced a difficult ordeal. The episode added a further 193k (0.9%) on ITV1 +1.
Elsewhere, 750k (4.2%) watched the latest Hollyoaks at 6.30pm (+1: 123k/0.6%), then E4's first look grabbed 449k (2.4%).
Earlier in the day, Neighbours drew 626k (8.8%) at 1.45pm and 867k (6.2%) at 5.30pm for its latest instalment, while Doctors averaged 1.16m (16.4%) at lunchtime for a story titled 'Sweetheart'.
