Coronation Street topped the 8m mark on Bank Holiday Monday (August 27) with the latest developments in Kirsty and Tyrone's domestic violence storyline, overnight figures show.
The ITV1 soap pulled in 7.75m (33.4%) at 7.30pm and 205k (0.9%) on +1 as Tommy confronted Kirsty over her disturbing behaviour. Tyrone's decision to cut ties with Tommy and Tina was later seen by 8.29m (34.8%) at 8.30pm and 222k (0.9%) on timeshift.
EastEnders, meanwhile, attracted 7.62m (32.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Abi returned to Walford and heard the truth about Heather's murder. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 590k (3.9%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale interested 6.37m (29.2%) at 7pm as Priya and David's new relationship was uncovered by Nikhil, adding 137k (0.6%) on +1.
Hollyoaks grabbed 864k (4.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as a confused Mitzeee pleaded guilty to attempted murder, while the aftermath on E4's first look appealed to 607k (2.8%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours mustered 774k (7.2%) at 1.45pm and 826k (4.8%) at 5.30pm, while classic episodes of Home and Away on 5* managed 152k (0.8%) and 181k (0.9%) at 6pm and 6.30pm respectively.
