EastEnders was the most-watched soap on Tuesday evening (August 7) as the drama surrounding Ian Beale's return continued, overnight figures show.
The Walford serial pulled in 5.72m (25.2%) at 7.30pm on BBC Two as Ben's attempts to help Ian backfired. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 750k (6.3%) at 11pm.
Holby City, also airing on BBC Two due to the Olympics, entertained 3.33m (13.8%) at 8pm with an episode titled 'Crime and Misdemeanours'.
Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 5.3m (25.2%) at 7pm and 117k (0.5%) on +1 as Jai offered Rachel an expensive flat in Leeds.
Hollyoaks managed 664k (3.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Amy announced plans to leave the village, while E4's first look had 288k (1.4%) at 7pm and 102k (0.4%) on timeshift.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 525k (5.4%) at 1.45pm and 740k (4.4%) at 5.30pm.
On 5*, the latest classic episodes of Home and Away were seen by 135k (0.7%) and 137k (0.7%) at 6pm and 6.30pm respectively.
