'Coronation Street' tops Thursday soap ratings

Coronation Street topped the Thursday soap ratings yesterday with 7.4 million viewers.

Peter Barlow's increasing desperation over seeing his son was watched by 7.08m (31.3%) at 8.30pm and 330k (1.5%) on ITV1 +1.

EastEnders logged 6.35m (31.4%) as well as 702k (3.6%) for BBC Three's repeat, while Emmerdale's double bill attracted 5.95m (31.3%) at 7pm (+1: 112k/0.5%) and 6.13m (29.3%) at 8pm (+1: 250k/1.2%).

Channel 4's Hollyoaks slipped to 847k (4.8%) at 6.30pm, then E4's first look nabbed 458k (2.4%) and 128k (0.6%) an hour later on timeshift.

Neighbours mustered 694k (10.5%) at 1.45pm and 892k (6.6%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away attracted 732k (4.5%) at 6pm and 511k (2.9%) for 5*'s first look.

BBC One's lunchtime screening of Doctors fetched an average of 1.17m (17.9%) for an episode titled 'Embers'.
