Emmerdale recorded its best ratings in over a month last night (July 9) for Alicia's court sentence.
The Yorkshire soap logged 6.79m (34%) for its standalone Monday episode at 7pm and 138k (0.6%) on ITV1 +1 as Alicia was sent to prison for punching Val.
Emmerdale, which pulled in its highest figures since June 7, has been severely dented by airing opposite the BBC's coverage of Euro 2012 and Wimbledon at various times over the last few weeks.
Coronation Street topped the soap ratings with 8.38m (38.8%) for the arrival of Carla's brother Rob at 7.30pm (+1: 158k/0.7%), while 8.18m (34.8%) indulged in Peter Barlow's woes at 8.30pm (+1: 242k/1%).
EastEnders managed a decent 7.92m (34.7%) for the entrance of Masood brother's AJ at 8pm, then 686k (3.5%) tuned in for BBC Three's 10pm repeat.
Meanwhile, Hollyoaks attracted 1.04m (5.6%) to Channel 4 at 6.30pm, after which E4's first look grabbed 578k (2.9%) at 7pm (+1: 123k/0.5%).
Returning after a fortnight off, Doctors delivered 1.29m (17.9%) to BBC One at 1.45pm for an episode titled 'Survivors'.
Elsewhere, Neighbours soared to 710k (9.5%) and 1.03m (7.1%) for its respective lunchtime and teatime screenings, while Home and Away nabbed 770k (4.5%) and 436k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look.
