EastEnders managed to stay above seven million viewers for its Friday episode, overnight data shows.
The Albert Square soap's hour-long special, centred around Janine's wedding to Michael, was watched by 7.27m (32.5%) at the early time of 7.30pm.
Unusually, BBC Three did not screen its usual 10pm repeat, but the omnibus scored 350k (11.1%) from 12.15am on BBC One.
Emmerdale, airing at 6.50pm instead of 7pm due to ITV's football commitments, logged 5.26m (28.6%) and 123k (0.5%) on +1.
Elsewhere, Hollyoaks drew 833k (4.6%) at 6.30pm, after which E4's first look grabbed 506k (2.8%).
Neighbours mustered 703k (9.3%) at lunchtime 822k (5.7%) on Channel 5 in its 5.30pm slot.
Meanwhile, Home and Away took 608k (3.7%) and 454k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look.
