Ratings: Coronation Street, Tommy's troubles watched by 7.5m

Coronation Street grabbed 7.5m on Thursday evening (May 31) as Tommy Duckworth's turmoil continued, overnight figures show.

The ITV1 drama pulled in 7.54m (33.5%) at 8.30pm as Tommy started to crack under the pressure of Rick Neelan's demands, while 258k (1.2%) watched an hour later on +1.

EastEnders, meanwhile, entertained 7m (34.9%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Phil helped to search for Ian. BBC Three's repeat screening secured a strong 859k (4.5%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale interested 5.96m (32.3%) at 7pm as Ashley's troubles began to escalate, while the fallout for the ex-vicar was witnessed by 6.44m (30.6%) at 8pm and 209k (1.0%) on timeshift.

Hollyoaks appealed to 872k (4.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Doug and Riley's friendship got back on track, while 457k (2.5%) watched E4's first look at 7pm and 100k (0.5%) on +1 to see what would happen next for Doug and Ste.

Over on Channel 5, Sheila Canning's Neighbours arrival was welcomed by 647k (9.8%) at 1.45pm and 928k (6.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 648k (4.0%) at 6pm and 373k (2.1%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Dia De Los Muertos' - was seen by 1.28m (19.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
