EastEnders was the most-watched soap on Tuesday evening (May 15) with the aftermath of Ben Mitchell's confession to Ian Beale, overnight figures show.

EastEnders pulled in 7.8m (37.4%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Ian struggled to comprehend the truth about Heather's murder. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 637k (3.4%) at 10pm.

Also on BBC One, Holby City gripped 5.25m (23.9%) at 8pm with a dramatic storyline for Sacha.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 6.16m (31.8%) at 7pm as Sean tried to kiss Ruby, adding 198k (0.9%) on +1.

Hollyoaks interested 876k (4.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Brendan discovered Walker's deception, while E4's first look appealed to 423k (2.2%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 684k (9.8%) at 1.45pm and 836k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 636k (3.7%) at 6pm and 513k (2.8%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the aftermath of Julia's car crash on Doctors was seen by 1.51m (21.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
