'Coronation Street', 'EastEnders' close in Thursday ratings

Coronation Street and EastEnders were neck-and-neck in Thursday night's (April 26) soap ratings, overnight figures show.

Coronation Street pulled in 7.85m (32.8%) at 8.30pm and 255k (1.1%) on +1 as Kylie stormed out of the Platt house following her troubles with David and his family.

EastEnders, meanwhile, had 7.84m (36.0%) at 7.30pm as Bianca and Carol had a huge row. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 584k (3.0%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.64m (32.5%) at 7pm with Sandy's outburst against Ashley, while Ashley's subsequent confession was watched by 6.99m (30.8%) at 8pm and 279k (1.2%) on +1.

Hollyoaks had 926k (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 100k (0.5%) on timeshift with the latest Maddie dramas, before E4's first look grabbed 504k (2.5%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 704k (9.5%) at 1.45pm and 972k (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 716k (4.1%) at 6pm and 472k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Genius' - was seen by 1.51m (20.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
