Ratings: 'Emmerdale' Aaron Livesy exit attracts 6.5m

Emmerdale grabbed 6.5m viewers on Thursday evening (April 5) as Aaron Livesy made his departure from the village, overnight figures show.

Emmerdale attracted 6.42m (32.2%) at 7pm and 130k (0.6%) on +1 as Aaron failed to turn up at court, while 6.52m (29.6%) watched at 8pm and 189k (0.8%) on timeshift as the mechanic said an emotional goodbye to his loved ones.

Coronation Street, meanwhile, pulled in 7.45m (31.4%) at 8.30pm as desperate Karl staged a break-in at the pub, adding 290k (1.3%) on +1.

EastEnders interested 7.25m (34.9%) at 7.30pm as Alfie made another attempt to scam Derek, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 760k (3.7%) at 10pm.

Hollyoaks appealed to 939k (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Doug was attacked by a masked Joel, while E4's first look appealed to 444k (2.2%) at 7pm and 123k (0.6%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours managed 727k (9.4%) at 1.45pm and 872k (6.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 633k (3.9%) at 6pm and 444k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Bursting Balloons' - was seen by 1.45m (18.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

I watched Aaron's departure in Emmerdale - played by Danny Miller - and it was a real tear jerker :(
