David and Audrey's salon feud was seen by 7.84m (33.6%) at 8.30pm, and a further 225k (1%) on ITV1 +1.
Significantly down from last Thursday's 9m, Phil's panic in EastEnders attracted 7.57m (37.6%). BBC Three's 10pm repeat added 920k (4.9%).
Emmerdale mustered 6.23m (33.8%) at 7pm (+1: 120k/0.6%), before improving to 7m (32.3%) for its second episode at 8pm (+1: 167k/0.8%).
Meanwhile, Hollyoaks fetched 822k (5.2%) at 6.30pm (+1: 112k/0.6%), after which E4's first look grabbed 485k (2.6%).
Elsewhere, Channel 5's latest Neighbours brought in 656k (12.1%) at lunchtime and 902k (7.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away took 662k (4.4%) at 6.30pm and 416k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Doctors' 1.45pm instalment, 'Pants on Fire', appealed to 1.13m (21.1%).
