EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Tuesday evening (March 20) with the aftermath of Heather Trott's death, overnight figures show.
EastEnders pulled in 8.89m (39.9%) at 7.30pm as a horrified Phil discovered that Ben had killed Heather. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 851k (4.5%) at 10pm.
Also on BBC One, Holby City entertained 5.18m (22.6%) at 8pm with an episode titled 'Eastern Promise'.
Emmerdale, meanwhile, grabbed 6.85m (32.6%) at 7pm and 151k (0.7%) on timeshift as Ashley and Laurel heard about Rachel's allegations.
Hollyoaks managed 958k (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 104k (0.5%) on +1 as Mercedes struggled to forgive the McQueens, while E4's first look appealed to 574k (2.7%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours managed 680k (10.4%) at 1.45pm and 987k (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 749k (4.1%) at 6pm and 466k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Only The Truth' - was seen by 1.35m (20.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
