Ratings: 'EastEnders' Tanya joy shared with 8.1m

EastEnders stayed above the 8m mark on Thursday evening (March 15) as fans saw Tanya Jessop receive heartwarming news, overnight figures show.

EastEnders pulled in 8.06m (34.6%) at 7.30pm as Tanya's MRI scan came back all-clear to the joy of her loved ones. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 751k (3.8%) at 10pm.

Coronation Street, meanwhile, attracted 8.02m (33.0%) at 8.30pm and 237k (1.0%) on +1 as Peter's police confession sparked shockwaves on the cobbles.

Emmerdale took 6.56m (29.9%) at 7pm and 115k (0.5%) on +1 as Holly overdosed on heroin, while 7m (30.0%) watched at 8pm and 132k (0.6%) on timeshift to see Cain come to her rescue.

Hollyoaks managed 948k (4.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the latest twists in George's homelessness storyline, while E4's first look appealed to 632k (2.9%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Home and Away mustered 287k (4.1%) at 1.15pm, while Neighbours followed with 694k (10.0%) at 1.45pm. Teatime editions of the Australian soaps did not air due to football coverage, but Home and Away's first look entertained 391k (1.9%) at 6.30pm on 5*.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Crush' - was seen by 1.28m (18.7%) at 1.45pm.
