'Coronation Street' still ahead of 'EastEnders' in ratings

Coronation Street has now managed to top the soap ratings over EastEnders for seven nights in a row.

Last night's Weatherfield action was watched by 8.7m (38.9%) at 7.30pm (+1: 200k/0.8%), and 9m (36.9%) at 8.30pm (+1: 227k/1%).

EastEnders was solid with a decent 8m (33.8%) at 8pm, the only serial to keep its audience level week-on-week. BBC Three's 10pm repeat, overall the most-watched multichannel show of the day, grabbed 670k (3.5%).

Relief and joy for the Dingles in Emmerdale was seen by 7.1m (34.1%) at 7pm (+1: 149k/0.6%), while Hollyoaks drew 899k (4.6%) and 445k (2.1%) for E4's first look.

Neighbours pulled in respective figures of 681k (9.1%) at lunchtime and 1.07m (6.7%) at teatime, while Doctors averaged 1.66m (22.4%) for BBC One.

Home and Away logged 727k (4.1%) at 6pm, then 5*'s first look grabbed 484k (2.5%).
