'Coronation Street' rules Thursday with Carla, Peter row

Coronation Street remained the most popular soap on Thursday evening (March 1) as Carla and Peter's relationship came under strain, overnight figures show.

Coronation Street pulled in 8.36m (34.1%) at 8.30pm as Peter was driven to drink following a row with Carla. A further 302k (1.3%) watched the episode on ITV1+1.

EastEnders, meanwhile, attracted 7.64m (35.3%) at 7.30pm as Mandy's mother Lorraine returned to Walford. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 694k (3.6%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale interested 7.38m (35.6%) at 7pm with Cameron and Chas's heart-to-heart, while Debbie's decision to dump Cameron was witnessed by 7.34m (31.8%) at 8pm and 166k (0.7%) on +1.

Hollyoaks grabbed 1.03m (5.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 115k (0.5%) on timeshift as Mercedes hoped for another chance from Riley, while 507k (2.5%) watched E4's first look at 7pm to see the next developments in the storyline.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours managed 696k (11.0%) at 1.45pm and 1.04m (6.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 735k (4.1%) at 6pm and 463k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Last Tango' - was seen by 1.43m (23.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
