Ratings: 'EastEnders' David, Carol drama secures 9.3m

EastEnders pulled well ahead in Thursday evening's soap ratings as David and Carol's rekindled romance intensified, overnight figures show.

EastEnders attracted 9.29m (39.9%) at 7.30pm as David urged Carol to leave Walford with him following Derek's threats. BBC Three's repeat screening later secured 848k (4.4%) at 10pm.

Coronation Street, meanwhile, appealed to 8.15m (31.9%) at 8.30pm and 257k (1.1%) on ITV1+1 as Kirsty's crazy antics led to a car crash.

Emmerdale interested 7.64m (34.4%) at 7pm as Debbie seduced Andy at a hotel, while Andy's confused feelings for Debbie in episode two also mustered 7.64m (31.1%) at 8pm and 178k (0.8%) on timeshift.

Hollyoaks brought 1.09m (5.2%) to Channel 4 at 6.30pm as Declan did a disappearing act after getting himself into trouble, while the fallout of his decision delivered a strong 687k (3.1%) to E4's first look at 7pm and 109k (0.4%) to E4+1.

Elsewhere, Doctors pulled in 1.63m (23.8%) on BBC One at 1.45pm for an episode titled 'Gimme A Break'.
