EastEnders stayed above the 8m mark on Friday evening as Masood and Denise tried to rescue Zainab and Kamil, overnight figures show.
EastEnders pulled in 8.26m (34.0%) at 8pm as the pair rushed into action upon hearing that evil Yusef had taken Zainab to see her son at a café. BBC Three's repeat screening later secured 781k (3.6%) at 10pm.
Coronation Street, meanwhile, attracted 7.95m (33.2%) at 7.30pm and 201k (0.8%) on +1 as Katy went into labour at the nativity. The arrival of the teen's baby boy was later watched by 8.13m (32.8%) at 8.30pm and 243k (1.0%) on timeshift.
Elsewhere,
Emmerdale entertained 6.78m (29.7%) at 7pm as Amy's baby came home for Christmas, while the ITV1+1 airing was seen by 136k (0.6%).
Hollyoaks appealed to 1.07m (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as it aired Warren's dramatic exit, while 568k (2.5%) watched E4 at 7pm for a first look at Doug's standalone Christmas episode. Later on E4, Hollyoaks Best Bits 2011 interested 109k (0.5%) at 9pm.
Over on Channel 5, the final edition of
Top 20 Soap Moments managed 399k (2.2%) at 5.30pm.
