Coronation Street attracted an audience of over 8m for both of its Friday episodes, making it the night's most-watched soap.
As Tracy prepared for a showdown with Steve at 7.30pm, the ITV1 soap lured 8.52m viewers and a 39% audience share. That figure decreased slightly to 8.08m (35.5%) at 8.30pm, as the oft-maligned character's anger turned to heartbreak. A further 103k (0.5%) opted to watch the second episode in the double bill on timeshift.
Earlier on ITV1,
Emmerdale took 7.1m (33.9%) when Cain named Jai as his attacker. An additional 105k (0.5%) opted to tune in to the Yorkshire soap an hour later.
Pat's desperate attempt to get her finances back on track brought in 7.54m (33.8%) for
EastEnders at 8pm, while 617k (3%) chose to wait for the 10pm BBC Three repeat. BBC One's daytime soap Doctors pulled in 1.74m (21.3%).
Channel 4's
Hollyoaks nabbed 949k (4.5%) at 6.30pm as Mitzeee made her return, and 372k (1.8%) switched over to E4 at 7pm for a first look at the next episode.
Neighbours' afternoon showing snared 800k (9.7%) for Channel 5, and as ever the 5.30pm showing increased the viewer count to 1.32m (7.8%).
Home and Away managed to cling on to 882k (4.5%) at 6pm.
