Coronation Street topped the soap ratings on Monday evening as Max's return to the cobbles proved problematic, overnight figures show.
Coronation Street pulled in 9.6m (40.2%) at 7.30pm as Max did a disappearing act shortly after coming to live with Kylie and David for good. A further 184k (0.7%) watched on timeshift.
EastEnders, meanwhile, attracted 8.64m (34.2%) at 8pm as Roxy was threatened by bad boy Derek. The BBC Three repeat took 708k (3.4%) at 10pm.
Emmerdale entertained 7.59m (33.1%) at 7pm as Jai and Charity called off their wedding, while
Hollyoaks had 1.2m (5.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 690k (3.0%) for the E4 first look at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5,
Neighbours appealed to 685k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 1.35m (7.9%) at 5.30pm, while
Home and Away interested 885k (4.5%) at 6pm. 5*'s first look at the Summer Bay soap managed 560k (2.5%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest edition of
Doctors - titled 'Visions' - pulled in 1.72m (22.9%) at lunchtime.
