Coronation Street topped the soap ratings on Thursday evening as EastEnders and Emmerdale were both dented by their 30-minute clash, overnight figures show.
Coronation Street pulled in 8.19m (34.1%) at 8pm as Ciaran faced the pressure of his deception at the Bistro. A further 305k (1.2%) watched on timeshift.
Emmerdale's hour-long episode, which featured more trouble for the Sharma family, averaged 6.69m (29.5%) from 7pm and 181k (0.7%) on +1, while EastEnders took 6.67m (28.1%) at 7.30pm as Tanya's secrets were revealed.
From 7.30pm, EastEnders won the timeslot as Emmerdale dipped to 6.41m (27.1%) during the 30-minute clash period, while BBC Three's 10pm repeat screening of the Walford soap took 1.51m (7.4%).
Hollyoaks, meanwhile, appealed to 1.18m (5.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 101k (0.4%) on timeshift, while E4's first look screening of events in Chester entertained 617k (2.8%) at 7pm and 108k (0.5%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours secured 713k (9.7%) at 1.45pm and 1.21m (7.3%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 835k (4.3%) at 6pm. 5*'s first look at the Summer Bay soap attracted 492k (2.4%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'A Woman Scorned' - pulled in 1.69m (23.1%) at lunchtime on BBC One.
