Coronation Street's extra Wednesday episode topped the soap ratings yesterday evening as history repeated itself for Rosie Webster and John Stape, overnight figures show.
Coronation Street pulled in 7.72m (33.1%) at 7.30pm and 391k (1.7%) on timeshift as John made the shock decision to kidnap Rosie for a second time.
Also airing at 7.30pm, BBC One's
Waterloo Road was dented by
Coronation Street, attracting 3.50m (15.0%) for the latest drama surrounding headteacher Michael.
Emmerdale appealed to 6.88m (32.3%) at 7pm and 157k (0.7%) on +1 as Sean continued to bother Aaron, while
Hollyoaks entertained 1.19m (5.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Lynsey remained in turmoil over evil Silas.
Hollyoaks' first look airing continued to perform well with 535k (2.5%) on E4 and 175k (0.7%) on timeshift as Lynsey had a horrifying encounter with the serial killer.
Over on Channel 5,
Neighbours had 617k (8.4%) at 1.45pm and 1.20m (7.6%) at 5.30pm, while
Home and Away took 893k (4.9%) at 6pm for the continuing storm disaster storyline. 5*'s first look at the
Summer Bay soap managed 463k (2.3%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of
Doctors - titled 'Silent Partner' - was seen by 1.64m (22.%) at 1.45pm.
