Thursday's 'EastEnders' nabs 8.1m with Yusef's new low

More scheming from Yusef helped EastEnders remain the most popular soap on Thursday evening, according to overnight viewing data.

EastEnders appealed to 8.15m (38.4%) on BBC One from 7.30pm, as Yusef made it look like Zainab had made a suicide attempt. A further 696k (3.6%) saw BBC Three's repeat screening from 10pm.

Coronation Street averaged 7.68m (31.9%) for ITV1 from 9pm, as Peter faced the music after taking the law into his own hands. An additional 194k (0.9%) watched the episode on ITV1+1.

Rural soap Emmerdale grabbed 6.68m (34.8%) on ITV1 from 7pm and 120k (0.5%) on +1, as Amy sunk to a new low in her pregnancy crisis. Amy's tough time hearing the fate of her baby after being taken to hospital was seen by 6.82m (30.3%) on ITV1 from 8pm and 194k (0.9%) on +1.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks had 1.06m (5.8%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm and 140k (0.7%) on +1. E4's first look at the next episode appealed to 438k (2.3%) from 7pm.

Earlier in the day, Doctors entertained 1.44m (22.9%) on BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 729k (11.4%) on Channel 5. The Aussie drama's repeat screening was watched by 1.1m (7.8%) from 5.30pm.

Home and Away appealed to 770k (4.7%) on Channel 5 from 6pm, and 5*'s first look at the next episode pulled in 399k (2.2%) from 6.30pm.
