'Coronation Street' rules Monday with Tracy baby drama

Coronation Street continued to outgun EastEnders in the Monday evening ratings war, according to overnight audience data.

ITV1's Coronation Street averaged 8.44m (37.3%) from 7.30pm as Deirdre betrayed Tracy's confidence by speaking to Steve about the baby. Tracy's revelation of her abortion decision to Steve was seen by 8.77m (35.5%) from 8.30pm and 114k (0.4%) on timeshift.

EastEnders appealed to 8.09m (33.1%) on BBC One from 8pm, as Michael kept his scheme on track even after things started to go wrong. A further 735k (3.5%) caught BBC Three's repeat screening from 10pm.

On Emmerdale, 6.88m (32.7%) tuned in on ITV1 from 7pm, as John told his family and employees that they had to work overtime for no money.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks managed 1.14m (5.7%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, before E4's first look at the next episode pulled in 644k (3.1%).

Doctors averaged 1.71m (22.9%) on BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 717k (9.5%) on Channel 5. The show also fetched 1.22m (7.8%) for the repeat from 5.30pm.

Home and Away managed 896k (4.9%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm, before 5*'s first look at the next episode pulled in 431k (2.2%).
