Coronation Street again pipped EastEnders in the battle to be the most-watched serial on Friday night, early viewing figures indicate.



The Weatherfield soap pulled in 7.53m (37.8%) at 7.30pm (+1: 108k), and 7.37m (33.6%) returned at 8.30pm (+1: 175k).

EastEnders appealed to 7.49m (36.1%) and 782k (4.1%) on BBC Three at 10pm, while 6.03m (32.8%) watched Emmerdale at 7pm (+1: 117k).

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks managed 1.03m (6.1%), as well as 525k (3.8%) for E4's first look.

Elsewhere, Doctors averaged 1.31m (19.1%), while Neighbours logged 659k (9.5%) at 1.45pm and 966k (7.8%) at 5.30pm.
