Ratings: Christian, Zainab clash nabs 7.1m on 'EastEnders'

Christian and Zainab's clash over the adoption mustered more than 7m for EastEnders on Thursday evening, according to overnight viewing data.



EastEnders appealed to 7.1m (36.4%) on BBC One from 7.30pm, as Christian tried unsuccessfully to sort things out with Zainab. An additional 881k (4.6%) saw BBC Three's repeat screening from 10pm.

On ITV1, Coronation Street averaged 6.83m (30.9%) from 8.30pm, down 580k week-on-week, as James started looking closer to home for his next scam. An additional 314k (1.4%) watched the episode on ITV1+1.

Rural soap Emmerdale grabbed 6.16m (34.4%) on ITV1 from 7pm, as Chas faced a dilemma when Carl offered to pay Aaron's legal fees. Aaron's decision to refuse Carl's help was seen by 6.14m (30.5%) from 8pm and 246k (1.1%) on ITV1+1.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks had 740k (4.6%) on Channel 4 from 6.30pm. E4's first look at the next episode appealed to 463k (2.6%) from 7pm and 120k (0.6%) on +1.

Earlier in the day, Doctors entertained 1.31m (19.7%) on BBC One from 1.45pm, while Neighbours had 681k (10.2%) on Channel 5. The Aussie drama's repeat screening was watched by 1.12m (9%) from 5.30pm.

Home and Away fetched 750k (5.2%) from 6pm, before 5*'s first look at the next episode brought in 464k (2.9%) from 6.30pm.
