Michael's Coronation Street scare seen by 7.1m on Monday

Coronation Street was back above the 7 million mark on Monday evening (June 8) with more fallout from the Fake Gavin saga, overnight figures show.

Corrie was the top-rated programme of the day, bringing in 7.03m (36.2%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 169k (0.8%) on +1 as Michael exposed Andy's deception in a rant at the Bistro. The audience increased to 7.09m (33.8%) at 8.30pm and 196k (0.9%) on +1 as Michael was rushed to hospital after collapsing during a passionate moment with Eileen.

EastEnders attracted 6.21m (30.6%) at 8pm on BBC One as Ronnie encountered more marital problems. BBC Three's repeat screening took 372k (2.1%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale appealed to 5.81m (32.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 113k (0.6%) on +1 as Victoria and Adam decided to flee from the village.

Hollyoaks interested 856k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Ste committed himself to a shock relationship with Sinead, while E4's first look followed with 578k (3.2%) at 7pm.

Neighbours scored a strong lunchtime figure, claiming 722k (11.5%) at 1.45pm on Channel 5 as Tyler and Paige became the latest unlucky pair to get stranded down the well. 739k (5.9%) caught the teatime screening at 5.30pm.

Doctors mustered 1.34m (21.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Zara continued to cause problems for Sid.

Home and Away managed 195k (3.0%) at 1.15pm and 524k (3.5%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 286k (1.7%) at 6.30pm.
