Coronation Street's revenge plot continues with 7.6 million

Coronation Street remained reasonably steady with the second episode of its big 9pm week on Tuesday evening (May 26), overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap held onto most of its audience from Monday, bringing in 7.57m (35.2%) at 9pm on ITV and 375k (2.1%) on +1 as a fire was started accidentally at Carla's flat after vengeful Tracy paid a sinister visit.

Emmerdale attracted 5.66m (33.8%) at 7pm on ITV and 104k (0.5%) on +1 as Sam discovered that Rachel had lied to him.

EastEnders continued to hold up well against Britain's Got Talent, claiming 5.09m (25.7%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Kim agreed to lie for Vincent. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 498k (2.8%) at 10pm.

Holby City, which also faced competition from Britain's Got Talent, managed 3.01m (13.8%) at 8pm on BBC One as Oliver struggled to move on from his past.

Neighbours entertained 667k (10.4%) at 1.45pm and 752k (6.3%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Paige and Tyler were forced to lie to cover their tracks.

Hollyoaks grabbed 687k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as the teens embarked on a cover-up after Dylan's accident, while E4's first look followed with 564k (3.4%) at 7pm.

Doctors returned from its Bank Holiday break with 1.09m (17.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Zara's relationship troubles continued to take their toll.
