Coronation Street claims 6.6m with Tracy Barlow's setback

Coronation Street comfortably topped the soap ratings on Friday evening (May 22) with the build-up to Tracy Barlow's revenge, overnight figures show.

Corrie was the most-watched programme of the day, bringing in 6.56m (36.4%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 119k (0.6%) on +1 as Tony was horrified by Carla's decision to buy into The Rovers. 6.29m (31.7%) returned at 8.30pm and 207k (1.0%) on +1 as Tracy learned that her scheme to seize the pub had been thwarted.

EastEnders claimed 5.91m (30.5%) at 8pm on BBC One with Kat and Alfie's departure from Walford, while BBC Three's repeat screening managed 232k (1.5%) at the slightly later time of 10.15pm.

Emmerdale attracted 5.25m (32.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 140k (0.7%) on +1 as Marlon considered divorcing Laurel.

Doctors appealed to 1.26m (20.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Daniel and Zara's relationship troubles escalated.

Neighbours grabbed 542k (8.7%) at 1.45pm and 645k (5.3%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Terese quit her job when Ezra pushed her too far.

Hollyoaks had 538k (3.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Maxine contemplated suicide, while E4's first look followed with 500k (3.1%) at 7pm.
