6.3m watch Owen's exit on Wednesday's Coronation Street

Coronation Street was Wednesday's most-watched programme (April 15) with Owen Armstrong's exit from Weatherfield, overnight figures show.

6.32m (35.6%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 198k (1.0%) on +1 as Owen went ahead with his plans to make a fresh start, despite Faye's pleas for him to stay.

Emmerdale appealed to 5.43m (32.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 120k (0.6%) on +1 as James regretted his one-night stand with Emma.

Hollyoaks managed 881k (5.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Celine and Cameron went on a date at The Hutch, while E4's first look followed with 588k (3.5%) at 7pm and 106k (0.6%) on +1.

Neighbours attracted 582k (10.0%) at 1.45pm and 714k (5.9%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Brad tried to support a grief-stricken Lauren.

Home and Away entertained 183k (3.1%) at 1.15pm and 594k (4.3%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look claimed 355k (2.3%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.29m (22.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
