Coronation Street: Peter's return brings in 8.2m on Monday

Coronation Street was Monday evening's most-watched soap (November 10) with Peter Barlow's return to the cobbles, overnight figures show.

8.21m (38.1%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 115k (0.5%) on +1 as Peter arrived back home after being released from prison. The audience increased slightly to 8.23m (35.7%) at 8.30pm and 172k (0.8%) on +1 as Peter begged Carla to take him back.

EastEnders attracted 7.19m (31.5%) at 8pm on BBC One as Pam told Billy that she is a killer. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 327k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.82m (32.9%) at 7pm on ITV with more drama for Belle Dingle.

Hollyoaks launched its train crash week with 1.1m (5.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4, while E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 850k (4.1%) at 7pm and 166k (0.7%) on +1.

Neighbours entertained 666k (9.5%) at 1.45pm and 780k (4.9%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Toadie worried about the spiteful message he had received about Sonya.

Home and Away mustered 280k (4.0%) at 1.15pm and 537k (2.9%) at 6pm on Channel 5 with Casey's shooting, while 469k (2.4%) saw the popular character's fate revealed on 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.58m (22.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
