EastEnders topped Tuesday evening's soap ratings (August 26) as Ian Beale's deception finally caught up with him, overnight figures show.
5.94m (31.9%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as Rainie's latest breakdown led to Denise discovering Ian's dirty secret. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 413k (2.8%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale pulled in 5.5m (31.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 137k (0.7%) on +1 as Edna was left with a big decision to make over Aaron.
Holby City claimed 4.15m (20.5%) at 8pm on BBC One with more trouble for Zosia.
Hollyoaks interested 867k (5.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Nico struggled with Sienna's latest lie, while E4's first look followed with 581k (3.3%) at 7pm and 116k (0.6%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours rose to 662k (8.8%) at 1.45pm and 859k (6.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 269k (3.4%) at 1.15pm, 553k (3.7%) at 6pm and 282k (1.7%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, BBC One's Doctors appealed to 1.27m (17.0%) at 1.45pm.
