Emmerdale and EastEnders were both dented by their latest scheduling clash on Tuesday evening (July 15), overnight figures show.
Emmerdale pulled in 4.98m (29.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 246k (1.3%) on +1 as Bernice was furious to spot Andy and Katie kissing in an hour-long episode.
EastEnders fell behind due to its clash with Emmerdale and the rival soap's head start, slipping to 4.5m (25.0%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Phil continued his attempts to get Billy out of trouble. Airing much later than usual, BBC Three's repeat screening secured 77k (3.9%) at 1.30am.
During the 30-minute clash period between both shows, Emmerdale had 4.79m (26.7%).
Elsewhere, back in its usual Tuesday night slot for the first time in over a month, Holby City attracted 3.92m (21.5%) at 8pm on BBC One.
Hollyoaks interested 787k (5.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Maxine walked out on Patrick, while E4's first look followed with 816k (5.1%) at 7pm and 123k (0.7%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 615k (10.1%) at 1.45pm and 764k (6.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 202k (3.3%) at 1.15pm, 562k (4.0%) at 6pm and 354k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.26m (20.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
