Coronation Street performs well in Wednesday soap ratings

Coronation Street continued to perform strongly on Wednesday evening (May 28) with another dark twist for Tina McIntyre and Rob Donovan, overnight figures show.

8.61m (35.9%) tuned in at 9pm on ITV and 495k (2.7%) on +1 as Rob brutally attacked Tina with a metal pole after she continued to taunt him following her balcony fall.

Emmerdale attracted 6.03m (32.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 137k (0.6%) on +1 as Donna made a dangerous plan with Ross.

Hollyoaks appealed to 930k (5.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Dodger and Maxine's plans to run away together hit a stumbling block, while E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 712k (3.8%) at 7pm and 133k (0.6%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 679k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 712k (5.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away interested 242k (3.1%) at 1.15pm, 552k (3.4%) at 6pm and 361k (2.1%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.34m (18.1%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
