Coronation Street was Monday's most-watched soap...

Coronation Street topped Monday's soap ratings (March 10) as Phelan's blackmail pushed Gary and Owen to breaking point, overnight figures show.

8.43m (38.3%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 180k (0.8%) on +1 as Gary came close to attacking Phelan for a second time at the building site. 8.06m (34.6%) returned at 8.30pm and 177k (0.8%) on +1 as Phelan increased the pressure by bringing Owen's deadline forward.

EastEnders attracted 7.11m (31.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Carl's mother Nora paid a visit to Walford in search of answers. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 339k (2.6%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.87m (33.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 203k (0.9%) on +1 as Eric and Val's marriage faced further troubles.

Elsewhere, Hollyoaks bounced back from Friday's audience dip, bringing in 1.18m (6.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Fraser targeted Ste's children - the show's highest figure since February 6. E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 794k (3.9%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 599k (9.6%) at 1.45pm and 851k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 279k (4.2%) at 1.15pm, 647k (3.7%) at 6pm and 504k (2.6%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.27m (20.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
