Coronation Street was Monday evening's (January 13) top-rated soap as Todd Grimshaw's mischievous behaviour continued, overnight figures show.

8.7m (37.4%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 181k (0.7%) on +1 as Todd made a move on Marcus outside the Bistro, but the fallout from his behaviour proved less popular with 8.05m (31.9%) watching at 8.30pm and 199k (0.8%) on +1.

EastEnders attracted 7.88m (32.3%) at 8pm on BBC One as Carol was diagnosed with breast cancer. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 380k (2.7%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 7.13m (32.8%) at 7pm on ITV as Sam was arrested and charged over the Home Farm fire, adding 106k (0.4%) on +1.

Hollyoaks had another strong night thanks to the John Paul and Finn storyline as 1.36m (6.4%) watched at 6.30pm on Channel 4, the show's highest figure of the month so far. E4's first look also continued to perform well with 947k (4.3%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 769k (10.5%) at 1.45pm and 789k (4.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away returned to 251k (3.4%) at 1.15pm, 654k (3.3%) at 6pm and 436k (2.0%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.61m (21.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
