			EastEnders continued to perform well in Tuesday evening's soap ratings (January 7), overnight figures show.
7.78m (34.3%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One to see the fallout from Jane Beale's surprise visit to ex-husband Ian. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 527k (3.4%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale attracted 6.93m (32.5%) at 7pm on ITV and 249k (1.1%) on +1 as Val struggled to cope in the aftermath of Ian's bombshell.
Holby City interested 5.16m (21.8%) at 8pm on BBC One as Jac went into labour early.
Hollyoaks appealed to 1.22m (5.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 102k (0.4%) on +1 as Sonny confronted Theresa over Calvin's murder, while E4's first look followed with 778k (3.6%) at 7pm and 193k (0.8%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Gem's latest manipulations in Neighbours were seen by 632k (8.2%) at 1.45pm and 892k (5.3%) at 5.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.62m (21.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
