EastEnders and Emmerdale had a closely fought ratings battle on Thursday, according to overnight figures.
Emmerdale appealed to 5.24 million (32.4%) at 7pm (157,000/0.9% on +1) on ITV as Brenda and Bob's wedding came under threat. The big day itself rose to 5.39m (30.6%) at 8pm (260k/1.4%).
On EastEnders, Aflie's proposal to Roxie attracted 5.46m (32.3%) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
Channel 4's Hollyoaks was seen by 736k (5.1%) at 6.30pm as Ste's raid led to a shocking stabbing. E4's first look brought in 498k (3.1%) at 7pm.
On Channel 5, Neighbours gathered 558k (8.9%) at 1.45pm and 753k (6.5%) at 5.30pm.
Home and Away brought in 213k (3.3%) at 1.15pm and 538k (4.0%) at 6pm, while 5*'s first look was seen by 379k (2.6%) at 6.30pm.
