EastEnders tops a poor night of soap ratings on Thursday

EastEnders edged ahead in a lacklustre evening of ratings for all the soaps on Thursday (June 6), overnight figures show.

5.83m (33.5%) tuned in at 7.30pm on BBC One to see Dexter fly into a rage at The Arches. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 593k (4.0%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 5.5m (34.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 111k (0.6%) on +1 as Debbie learned that someone had reported her to Social Services, while 5.82m (29.6%) watched at 8pm and 359k (1.9%) on +1 as Debbie discovered the heartbreaking truth behind the mystery.

Waterloo Road managed 2.48m (12.6%) at 8pm on BBC One as Kevin embarked on a desperate plan to get rid of Steve-O.

Hollyoaks attracted 626k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 100k (0.6%) on +1 as Cindy pledged her support to Tony, while E4's first look had 374k (2.4%) at 7pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours brought in 516k (10.5%) at 1.45pm and 773k (7.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 212k (4.1%) at 1.15pm, 641k (4.9%) at 6pm and 405k (2.8%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.06m (21.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
