EastEnders tops Thursday evening's soap ratings

EastEnders was Thursday evening's (February 7) most-watched soap with Zainab Masood's penultimate episode, overnight figures show.

The latest visit to Albert Square interested 8.19m (35.8%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Masood made it clear to Zainab that their relationship was over. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 561k (3.8%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale had 7.06m (32.5%) at 7pm on ITV as Debbie considered a drugs deal, while 6.57m (28.7%) returned at 8pm and 255k (1.1%) on +1 to see Cain try to scare off Pete.

Also airing in the 8pm hour, Waterloo Road interested 3.82m (16.7%) on BBC One as Bolton Smilie returned.

Hollyoaks grabbed 1.07m (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Diane finally discovered Sinead's role in bullying Esther, while E4's first look appealed to 715k (3.3%) at 7pm and 111k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 693k (9.2%) at 1.45pm and 854k (5.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 684k (3.6%) at 6pm and 468k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.59m (21.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
