Jody Latham has pleaded guilty to growing cannabis worth £14,000.
The Shameless and EastEnders actor appeared at Burnley Crown Court, after 24 plants were found at the home of former girlfriend Sarah Melia of Cotman Close, Bacup, Lancashire in May this year.
Latham initially denied the charge but changed his plea before his trial began yesterday (November 16). Melia admitted allowing the plants to be grown on her premises.
The actor is due to be sentenced on December 17 and has been warned he could face a custodial sentence. Reports are currently being prepared for the hearing.
Metro reports Latham has previously received convictions for assault, abusive behaviour and cannabis production. According to the Daily Mail, the actor has undergone weekly treatment sessions at The Priory to address his cannabis dependency in recent months.
Latham starred as Phillip 'Lip' Gallagher in Shameless from 2004 to 2008, before appearing as sinister Rob Grayson in EastEnders from late last year. The actor was previously linked romantically to X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos.
