Hollyoaks enjoyed its highest E4 rating of the year so far on Wednesday evening (November 14) as fans tuned in to see the aftermath of the dramatic mini-bus crash, overnight figures show.
970k (4.6%) watched E4's first look screening at 7pm to see who would be killed off in the wedding day disaster, while 168k (0.8%) watched an hour later on E4+1.
Hollyoaks was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day and the figures were up on the 816k who saw Riley Costello's death scenes on E4 last month.
Meanwhile, the crash itself pulled in 1.05m (4.9%) in the traditional 6.30pm slot on Channel 4 and 139k (0.7%) on Channel 4+1.
Emmerdale was Wednesday's most-watched soap, attracting 5.73m (26.3%) on ITV1 at the slightly earlier time of 6.45pm as the day of Sarah's operation arrived, adding 329k (1.5%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 621k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 986k (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 789k (4.1%) at 6pm and 471k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.42m (20.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
