Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Wednesday evening (October 24) with Sophie Webster's accident horror, overnight figures show.
The Weatherfield drama pulled in 8.18 million (36.9%) at 7.30pm on ITV1 and 347k (1.5%) on +1 as Sophie was hit by a car while trying to save a drugged-up Ryan on the road.
Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 7.38m (34.9%) at 7pm and 284k (1.3%) an hour later as Chas was charged with Carl's murder.
Hollyoaks grabbed 902k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Lynsey's funeral episode, while E4's first look had 512k (2.4%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 630k (9.2%) at 1.45pm and 969k (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 774k (4.3%) at 6pm and 469k (2.4%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.38m (20.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
