Coronation Street was well above the 8m mark on Thursday evening (May 10) with the latest drama surrounding Tina McIntyre and the Duckworths, overnight figures show.
Coronation Street pulled in 8.52m (34.5%) at 9pm and 304k (1.6%) on +1 as Terry covered his tracks by blaming Rick Neelan for Tina's injuries.
EastEnders, meanwhile, continued to be dented by Britain's Got Talent but had its highest audience of the week so far, attracting 6.07m (26.4%) at 7.30pm with the arrival of Derek Branning's daughter Alice. BBC Three's repeat screening added a huge 1.27m (6.6%) at 10pm.
Emmerdale interested 6.67m (32.9%) at 7pm and 128k (0.5%) on timeshift as Cain managed to track down Zak, while Hollyoaks managed 788k (4.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 525k (2.6%) for E4's first look at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 758k (10.0%) at 1.45pm and 927k (6.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 691k (4.0%) at 6pm and 507k (2.7%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'Black Bag' - was seen by 1.55m (20.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
