Ratings: Corrie, Emmerdale hold up well against Sport Relief

Coronation Street held up reasonably well against last night's (March 23) Sport Relief marathon, overnight data has indicated.

An Alahan-centred double bill began with 7.92m (35.3%) at 7.30pm (+1: 141k/0.6%), then 7.01m (29.1%) returned to the Weatherfield soap at 8.30pm (+1: 148k/0.4%).

Emmerdale mustered 6.53m (31.9%) at 7pm (+1: 211k/0.9%), only 250k down on last week.

Meanwhile, the latest Hollyoaks logged 945k (5.1%) at 6.30pm (+1: 158k/0.7%), after which E4's first look fetched 471k (2.3%).

Neighbours grabbed 636k (10.3%) at 1.45pm and 955k (6.8%) at 5.30pm for Channel 5, while Sasha's murder confession in Home and Away was seen by 747k (4.4%) at 6pm. 5*'s first look had 485k (2.6%) half an hour later.

With EastEnders not airing due to Sport Relief, Doctors was BBC One's only Friday serial, drawing 1.3m (21.4%) for an instalment titled 'Ambition' in its usual lunchtime slot.
