EastEnders and Coronation Street fought a close battle in Thursday night's soap ratings, overnight figures show.
EastEnders pulled in 8.92m (39.3%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Ben shopped Phil in to the police with a false accusation. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 634k (3.3%) at 10pm.
Coronation Street, meanwhile, attracted 8.7m (34.4%) at 8.30pm and 248k (1.0%) on +1 as Anna found out about Owen slapping Faye.
Emmerdale entertained 7.6m (34.5%) at 7pm as Laurel thought she was expecting a baby, while the result of her pregnancy test was witnessed by 7.62m (31.9%) at 8pm and 199k (0.8%) on ITV1+1.
Hollyoaks managed 1.09m (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with E4's first look appealing to 499k (2.3%) at 7pm and 113k (0.5%) on timeshift.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 681k (8.3%) at 1.45pm and 1.13m (6.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 886k (4.5%) at 6pm and 487k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors' latest episode - titled 'The Cat's Meow' - was seen by 1.66m (20.5%) at 1.45pm.
