War between Tracy and Becky steers Coronation Street to 7.9m

The escalating war between Becky and Tracy on Coronation Street saw the ITV1 soap top the Friday night ratings.

The show's 7.30pm instalment brought in 7.59m (36.3%), with a further 104k (0.5%) catching up on timeshift. The second part of the double bill, which saw Becky stunned by Tracy's revelations, upped the ante with 7.86m (34.9%) and 184k (0.8%) on +1.

Kicking off the channel's soaps for the night was Emmerdale at 7pm. Nicola's drastic decision saw 6.23m (32.4%) tune in to the Yorkshire-based show, with a further 69k (0.3%) watching an hour later.

Over on BBC One, EastEnders snared 7.64m (34.6%) as Eddie divulged his secrets to Michael. A further 779k (3.8%) saved themselves for the 10pm repeat on BBC Three.

Earlier in the day, an episode of Doctors titled The Devil's Daughter held 1.6m (22.7%) on the same channel.

Hollyoaks on Channel 4 logged 1.04m (5.8%) viewers, who saw Will receive advice from his siblings. An additional 126k (0.6%) watched on +1, while 543k (2.8%) opted to check out E4's first look.

The lunchtime edition of Neighbours attracted 679k (9.5%) to Channel 5. The evening repeat, which saw Michael troubled by Tash's flashbacks, took 1.19m (8.1%). The broadcaster's second Australian soap, Home and Away, used the strong lead-in to seduce 858k (4.9%) at 6pm.
